'Bottom-Up' Macro Strategy

Please join market strategist Sam Burns, CFA of Mill Street Research for a discussion of his current market outlook. Sam will cover various topics related to his asset allocation strategy, including stock/bond allocation, country/regional outlook, large vs. small-cap allocation, and sector/industry views.

In addition, Sam will share his macro views, which are derived from his "bottom-up" analysis of market indicators. The conclusions are drawn from analyzing trends in analyst earnings estimate revisions, among many other inputs. As a long-time quantitatively-oriented researcher, Sam will also comment on quantitative stock selection models, including his own, and how fundamentally-focused investors can incorporate them into their own research process.

Sam Burns is the founder and Chief Strategist at Mill Street Research, a boutique independent research provider for institutional investors globally. Prior to founding Mill Street, Sam worked for over 20 years as a senior strategist at firms including Oppenheimer & Co., Brown Brothers Harriman, State Street Global Markets, and Ned Davis Research. Sam holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin, and has been a CFA charterholder since 2002.
