Attendees will hear from practitioners and thought leaders across investment management, technology, and sustainability as they examine where AI is delivering value, where risks are emerging, and what investment professionals should be considering next. This conference is designed for professionals seeking a clearer, more practical framework for evaluating AI’s role in sustainable investing.
Keynote
The conference will open with a keynote address and fireside chat featuring Andy Moniz, Director of Responsible Investing at Acadian Asset Management, who will provide a high-level overview of the AI landscape as it relates to investment management and sustainability. Recognizing that participants bring varying levels of experience with both AI tools and sustainability frameworks, the keynote will establish a shared foundation for the day by clarifying key concepts, trends, and use cases. Drawing on real-world examples and practical applications, the Andy will examine how AI is already influencing investment workflows, research processes, and sustainability analysis.
Panel 1 – AI’s Role in Investment Management
The first panel will focus on how AI is being integrated into investment management today and how it is reshaping traditional distinctions between fundamental and quantitative approaches. Panelists will explore how AI-driven tools are improving data aggregation and analysis, particularly through the use of large language models to extract meaningful insights from long-form content such as earnings calls, regulatory filings, and research reports.
The discussion will examine how fundamental managers are increasingly leveraging big data and AI-enabled tools to broaden their information sets, while quantitative managers are incorporating more qualitative signals - including sentiment, narrative analysis, and management commentary - into their models. Panelists will also share perspectives from early adopters, offering insight into implementation challenges, organizational considerations, and lessons learned from incorporating AI into investment workflows.
Panel 2 – The Intersection of AI and Sustainability
The second panel will examine the intersection of AI and sustainability, with a balanced focus on value creation and risk. Panelists will discuss how increased analytical capacity and access to richer data can support better-informed investment decisions and potentially drive more capital toward sustainable investment strategies.
At the same time, the conversation will address the sustainability challenges associated with AI itself, including energy and water demands, data security concerns, informational accuracy, and privacy risks. Panelists will also explore broader economic implications, such as labor displacement and workforce disruption, and the responsibilities investment professionals face as reliance on AI-generated outputs continues to grow.
