CFA Society Boston Past-President of the Board Recognition and Announcement

We are saddened to share the passing of Arnold “Arnie” Seton Wood Jr., a deeply respected member of the CFA Society Boston community and past President of the Board (1982–1983). 

During his time with CFA Society Boston, Arnie played a meaningful role in strengthening the society’s connection to the broader investment community and advancing the highest standards of ethics and professional practice. His leadership helped shape the organization’s growth and enduring impact. 

He went on to build an exceptional career in finance, holding key roles at State Street Bank and as a trustee and senior vice president of Batterymarch Financial Management. He ultimately became co-founder, president, and chief executive officer of Martingale Asset Management. 

Arnie was widely recognized for his leadership, integrity, and contributions to the profession. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was known for his generosity, mentorship, and commitment to community.
