Since 1946, the CFA Society Boston has been a nonprofit forum for one of the world’s most influential investment communities, providing an open exchange of fresh perspectives on industry issues. Our mission is to be a community of investment professionals which promotes the highest ethical standards, fosters best practices and facilitates professional development for the benefit of its members, their clients and the broader investing public. Through its numerous events and educational programs, CFA Boston reaches Boston-area investment practitioners. Society events are normally held in person inside Boston’s financial district, which provides convenient and unique opportunities to learn from peers, mentors, and industry luminaries.

CFA Boston is a founding society of the CFA Institute, which is the global, not-for-profit association of investment professionals that awards the CFA and CIPM designations. The institute has close to 152,000 members and 163 societies worldwide, with a mission of leading the investment profession globally by setting the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence. With its member societies, it offers a range of educational programs and services for its members, program candidates, investors, employers, institutions, regulators and the press. CFA Boston membership has increased each year over the last 15 years, and currently exceeds more than 5,700 investment professionals. It is a diverse cross-section of the Boston investment community; the society’s membership is drawn from over 650 investment firms.

Each year, a team of coordinators and writers create a practice exam for candidates at all three levels of the CFA exam based on the most current Body of Knowledge. CFA Society Boston is the only society within the CFA Institute network that creates a practice exam. This exam is distributed both locally and globally through the network of local societies. Last year, over 3,500 candidates worldwide participated in the CFA Society Boston Practice Exam.
